We know that great ideas for growth don't just come from reports—they come from people on the ground. That’s why the Lab acts as an incubator, launching and supporting innovative projects and pilots to kickstart growth across the state and help local projects get off the ground.

What We Do

The Lab's mission is to move past theory and directly address barriers and retain talent by developing and executing high-impact, first-in-the-nation programs.

• Incubation: We serve as a home to incubate new projects and big swings designed to spark growth in communities across our state.
• Pilots & Programs: We are actively launching programs and pilots like Make MI Home and student engagement efforts to create opportunities for Michigan families and attract young people to live here.

• Strategy & Support: We don't just launch our own projects. We offer strategic support and planning to organizations that are desirous of strategic growth or progress.
